Montusi Mountain Lodge consists of a large and beautifully thatched main building with reception, dining room, terrace, bar, lounge and massage treatment room. The 16 spacious, tastefully decorated, individual suites are among the most luxurious in the Northern Drakensberg. The peace and quiet, like our homemade chocolates and bread, are quite addictable!
Each free-standing suite is individually decorated and has spectacular mountain views. All the suites have tea and coffee making facilities, including a bar fridge for fresh milk. A minibar facility in the suite is available upon request. All suites have a car port for one vehicle.
Description of Surroundings:
Montusi is set on a 1000 hectare private conservation estate in the northern Drakensberg. This area is less developed and so offers excellent opportunities for adventuring. The uninterrupted mountain views are stunning and the light at different times of the day make the scenery ever-changing. On the property, hiking, adventure running, mountain bike and 4×4 trails offer great ways to experience the mountains. The horse-riding stables on the property cater for all levels of rider and make ascending the mountain slopes a breeze. There is a cave with authentic Bushman Paintings (San Rack Art). The Royal Natal National Park is an easy 30 minute drive from Montusi. Here one can view the world’s second highest waterfall in the rainy season. More hikes and another example of Bushman Paintings are on offer at the park.

Als je denkt dat er geen lodge meer kan komen, arriveer je bij Montusi Lodge. Een prachtige locatie aan de voet van de berg. Onze 5 persoonslogde met woonkamer was gezellig en de bedden en badkamer waren erg goed Er was zelfs vloerverwarming! We hebben de Montusi berg beklommen met de gids van de lodge, erg leuk en informatief.
Het eten op deze locatie was uitstekend, het zou zo een Michelin ster mogen verdienen. Wat een traktatie! We hebben genoten van de spa/relax mogelijkheden.
