Pam and Ant Townsend, proud South African owners and managers of this award winning guesthouse, offer guests a taste of excellent service, comfort and luxury in one of 8 Garden Rooms.
Spend some time relaxing in our beautiful gardens with magnificent old oak tree, overlooking the dam, olive grove and beautiful Langeberg Mountains. Enjoy the gardens together with the abundant bird life. Cool off in the small splash pool or lounge on the lawns enjoying the glorious views of the surrounding mountains whilst sipping a glass of local wine, before strolling into town for dinner.
Montagu Vines offers eight garden rooms, all of which are en-suite, with a seating area, have DSTV (Hospitality bouquet), complimentary WI-Fi, hairdryer, heated towel rails, tea and coffee tray, air conditioning, fire places, mohair blankets and electric blankets (for the chilly winter evenings!).
In the morning a full breakfast is served in the guest breakfast room, which is located on the south west side of the property, overlooking the olive grove. This is a feast of fresh fruit in season, yoghurt, muesli and cereals and fresh fruit juice followed by your choice of eggs, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms or cold meats and cheeses and croissants.
Standard Queen Bed and Twin Bed Garden Rooms
These are the original garden rooms, uniquely and tastefully decorated and overlooking different aspects of the garden, the olive grove and beautiful surrounding mountains. Four rooms offer Queen -size Beds and one room offers Twin Beds.
One Queen Bed Room has a Victorian bath and shower, while the remaining rooms have showers only. The three front rooms (2 Queen and 1 Twin) share a long veranda, with private entrances, while the two rear rooms each have a small patio, overlooking a private garden.
Luxury Queen Bed and Twin Bed Garden Rooms
Located in our new wing, are three beautifully appointed rooms, where attention to detail is evident. Two rooms have Queen-size extra length Beds and one room has extra length Twin Beds.
The rooms all have front and rear entrances, a private patio and spacious full bathroom with a large shower. All the rooms overlook the garden, olive grove and stunning surrounding mountains.
Description of Surroundings :
There are numerous restaurants, serving lunches and/or dinners in the town and surrounding areas, which offer simple to sophisticated meals. Your hosts will be happy to assist you in selecting and making a reservation at the restaurant of your choice. All restaurants in Montagu are within a 10-15 minute walk.
The town of Montagu, which remains one of the last custodians of Victorian architecture, is just a 10 minute walk away. Guests are able to explore its history, enjoy a light lunch or visit some of the arts and crafts venues through the area. Montagu is a rich agricultural area, famous for fruit and wine farming. Visit our local farms for wine tasting – especially the local speciality “Muscadel” – and the famous local dried fruit and nut shops.
Montagu, which was named “Best Town in South Africa – 2012“, is surrounded by mountains with unusual and beautiful rock formations. The area is world renowned for rock climbing, walking and hiking trails and is a growing destination for mountain bike trails.
Klanten over Montagu Vines Guest House
Deze accommodatie was in alle opzichten top, mooi gelegen, mooie kamers, goede parkeerruimte (zelfs onze auto werd gewassen) super ontbijt, prachtige tuin en alles wat daar bijhoort. Pat en Anthony waren geweldige gastvrije mensen en hadden enorm goede tips. Vooral de tip over de Gardens (Babylon toren) was een hele goede. Bij deze vriendelijke mensen waren we graag wat langer gebleven.
