Description of Surroundings

The province of Mpumalanga in South Africa boasts one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders of the world, aptly called God’s Window – for when you look through this natural “window” in the mountains, you can see the Lowveld stretching out underneath you right up to the misty horizon, as far as the eye can see. Within a small km radius other natural attractions and historical sites abound, like the famous Blyde River Canyon, and Pilgrim’s Rest – a mining town built around the end of the 19th Century during the Gold Rush, and later restored to its former glory.

In the heart of this all, on the Panorama Route, lies the town of Hazyview (the name says it all!), a base from which not only all the attractions of the region can be reached with ease, but that is also only 10 km form the Phabeni Gate to the internationally renowned Kruger National Park – possibly the most famous of all the game parks, where the Big Five of the animal kingdom abound, thrilling tourists from all over the globe.
