Shepherd's Tree Game Lodge is a lodge concession awarded by the North West Parks & Tourism Board (custodians of the land) within the existing Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The entire lodge lies in an exclusive use zone in the south-western portion of the 55,000ha, "Big 5" and malaria free Pilanesberg Game Reserve. It offers exclusive traversing as well as access to all the Park's public roads. The lodge also lies adjacent to the Wilderness Area offering the opportunity of walking trails in this untouched environment. .

The lodge accommodates 13 family suites (132m²) and 4 spacious executive suites (86m²) situated around a magnificent main lodge that is accessed by both road and foot-paths.
The placement and design of each suite ensures privacy and commanding views of the expansive bushveld amphitheatre. Contemporary architecture and interior design will be the hallmark of all the suites.

On arriving at Shepherds Tree Game Lodge the private entrance gate you will park your vehicle in the secure guest parking, and then proceed by game viewing vehicle to the lodge.

The entire lodge consists of a main lodge and 30 suites in total. The furniture and finishes will be accomplished with an uncompromising commitment to true quality, luxury and superlative standards.

The magnificent main lodge provides all the necessary facilities and amenities, including a gourmet restaurant, cigar bar, wine cellar, central lounge, spacious rim-flow swimming pool and deck area, and a boma. This provides a central gathering point and social environment for all guests at the lodge. It is here that all the main amenities are offered and it is from here that all activities depart and return.

The conference centre is fully equipped to ensure that conferences, functions and events are handled seamlessly. The seating layout provides for a maximum of 60 delegates.

Directions to Shepherds Tree Game Lodge

A suitable road map is recommended to follow the route properly, or to trace the route required from other parts of Gauteng, such as Johannesburg International Airport.

• Leave Johannesburg driving past Lanseria Airport towards Hartebeespoort Dam (suggested routes either William Nicol or Hans Strydom roadways)
• At the T-junction of Broederstroom ( fruit stall in front of you ) turn left
• Follow signs to Sun City turning right taking the bridge over the dam
• At stop street turn right
• At 4 way stop turn left ( takes you past Chameleon Village ) and once again follow Sun City signs taking you onto the N4
• Once on the N4 Toll road, take the 1st off ramp for Pilansberg/Sun City
• Turn right over the Highway continuing as though traveling to Sun City (+/- 80km) going through at least 4 4-way stops
• Continue straight past Sun City entrance and Bakubung Gate turn-off, and proceed to the 4 way stop.
• Turn right and proceed along the road for 12km to the Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge entrance on the right hand side.
