Qambathi Mountain Lodge is situated at the foot of the mountains in the secluded Kamberg Valley, Southern Drakensberg.
Superb cuisine, combined with original art and handmade decor, ensure a unforgettable stay. Two standard rooms in the lodge and three garden rooms with private decks are on offer. Take in the mountains from the sala seats on the chill deck around the pool while drinking sundowners or enjoying the boma fire. Breath taking views are to be seen from horse back or open game viewers added to the hiking on the Reserve or at Highmoor Reserve. Rock Art are 5km away at Kamberg Rock Art Centre and the Reserve is 33 km away from Nottingham Road, the heart of the Midlands Meander.
The lodge is situated next to a stream, at the foot of the mountain. The mountains are in view from the lodge. An indegenous forest on the Reserve offer exceptional birding. Hiking can be done on the Reserve or at Highmoor Reserve, 5 km away with fantastic views on offer. One of the only places in the Drakensberg where one can drive to the top of the mountain. Bushmen Rock Art are at display at the Kamberg Rock Art Centre, on our neighbouring Kamberg Nature Reserve. Game drives in open game viewers offer fantastic sights into the Kamberg Valley with views of Giants Castle. Horse riding are also on offer that bring guests closer to the game on the Reserve and special viw points. The Reserve are part of Midlands Meader that offer , art, antique, craft, chocolate dipping shops, with wine tasting and fine coffee shops and restaurants for day trips out.

Midlands Meander
From Johannesburg, take fart left tool booth in Mooi River and cross over N3 up to T-junction. Turn left here on the R103 towards Rosetta.
From Durban, take the Nottingham Road turn-off and continue into Nottingham Road and turn right under the train bridge towards Rosetta.
In Rosetta, turn on the road indicated as “Kamberg Camp and Rock Art Centre”. Continue on this road till another similar sign (about 28 km), turn left and continue for 1,9km to gate on right hand side of road.
