The choice of accommodation, as well as the decor that tastefully reflects its rich Karoo background, have combined to create a unique tranquil oasis. Accommodation consists of a total of 12 bedrooms, split amongst the Nyala Valley Safari Tents, the original Hunters Lodge, the historic Farmhouse dating back to the 1870's and a tented Bush Camp.
Guests may also choose between full board or self-catering service, or even a combination of both.
Koffylaagte Game Lodge & Tented Camp, literally translated means Coffee Hollow and owes its name to its colourful history as the resting place of the early settler traders. This pristine reserve, situated in the Karoo Heartland, roughly 130km from Port Elizabeth, is dedicated to wildlife management and breeding programmes, and has been stripped of all remnants related to its early farming days. The area has been converted back to its magnificent fauna and flora, becoming a place to rest your mind, body and soul, just as in the days of the early settlers.
Koffylaagte is ideally situated to serve as a base for visitors wishing to visit some of the Eastern Cape's best kept secrets i.e. it is roughly an hour's drive from Graaff-Reinet where you can visit the Valley of Desolation; Addo Elephant Park is also an hour from Koffylaagte, as is the Baviaans Kloof Heritage Site.
