Sunset Game Lodge - arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.

Sunset is a small, exclusive, luxury Game located in the game rich area of the Limpopo Province, only forty minutes from the Orpen Gate to the Kruger National Park.

The lodge compromises six beautfully appointed en-suite double rooms, all opening on to the cool sparkling pool in the central courtyard. Each luxurious room has air condition,and a safe.

Enjoy a sun downer in our bar or on our deck that faces the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains. Watch the sunset in the mountains, all the while keeping an ey on the waterhole below. After dark at Sunset Lodge enjoy dinner or the deck, in our boma or in our cosy dining room, depending on the weather.

The food at Sunset is wholesome and combines the tradtional South African with the international kitchen. We take care of dietary issues.

Full Day Kruger Tours, Bush Drives with sundowner at an open camp fire in the bush and tours to the Panorama Route are provided with our own open safari vehicle. All tours and our morning and afternoon bush walks are guided by our certified tour guide who is fluent in English and German.

Other interesting activieties include visits to the Cheetah Breeding Project, the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre, Elephant Back Safaris, cruises on the Blyde Dam, Whit Water Rafting on the Blyde River and Ballooning.

FROM NELSPRUIT (135 km)

Proceed to White River and drive to Acornhoek on the R40, passing thru Hazyview and Bushbuckridge. Pass thru Acornhoek, staying on the R40 for another 5km.

Turn right on to the Orpen road and drive for 4km.

Turn left at the Guernsey sign and proceeding thru the control gates drive 8.5 km to the Guernsey Private nature reserve gate.

Turn right and follow the signs to Sunset game lodge.

FROM TZANEEN (160 km)

Proceed on the R71 to Gravelotte. At Gravelotte the road becomes the R526.

Drive on the R526 to the T-junction with the R40.

Turn right on to the R40 passing thru Mica and Hoedspruit. Proceed to the R40 to the T- junction at Klaserie. Turn Left here and proceed for 2 km.

Turn left on to the Orpen road and proceed for 4km.

Turn left at the Guernsey sign. Precede thru the Guernsey control gates and drive for 8.6km to the Guernsey private nature reserve gate.

Turn right here and follow the signs to Sunset game lodge.

FROM PHALABORWA (120 km)

Drive south on the R40 towards Hoedspruit.

Staying on the R40 pass thru Hoedspruit to the T-junction at Klaserie.

Turn left here and proceed for 2km.

Turn left on to the Orpen road and proceed for 4km. Turn left at the Guernsey sign. Precede thru the Guernsey control gates and drive for 8.5km to the Guernsey nature reserve gate turn right here and follow the signs to Sunset game lodge.

FROM JOHANNESBURG (520 km)

Proceed along the N4 passing Witbank and Middleburg. Turn left onto the R540 at Belfast. From Belfast proceed to Dullstroom and then Lydenburg.

From Lydenburg take the R36 to Ohrigstad. Stay on this road passing through the Strijdom tunnel. Keep going on this road until you see the signs to Swadini / Orpen. Turn right here on to the R531 and proceed for 32km.

Turn left at sign to Orpen gate (R531), continue for 4 km and turn left at Guernsey sign. Drive for 8.5 km and turn right at sign to Sunset Game Lodge. (Guernsey Private Nature Reserve)
