6 (six) modern luxury tented chalets, designed after the classic safari tent but with all modern amenities. Each tent chalet has its own en suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower open plan, and outside shower and a private sundeck.

Build around a waterhole and connected through wooden walkways all tent chalets enjoy plenty of privacy. The main lounging area offers you a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a drink or a good book while overlooking the birdlife around the waterhole. You might even spot the occasional giraffe or zebra coming for a drink. The sundeck around the pool is the place for those who just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the African sun. All accommodation was built so as to not interfer with the natural bush surroundings.

Johannesburg

From Johannesburg take the N4 passing Witbank and Middleburg. Turn left onto the R540 at Belfast. From Belfast proceed to Dullstroom and Lydenburg. From Lydenburg take the R36 to Ohrigstad. Stay on this road passing through the Strijdom Tunnel. Keep on this road until you see the signs to Swadini / Orpen. Turn right here. After about 30 km turn left at the sign to Orpen gate, continue for about 4km and turn left at Guernsey sign. After about 8km,turn right at sign to Guernsey Private Nature Reserve. This will take you about 6 hours.


Scenic Route

On N4 take the R539. Continue through Hendriksdal and Sabie.( on R37 is Long Tom Pass ) On R539, come to split, turn right on to R533, go straight through Graskop towards Kowyns pass on R533 (at Graskop R534 go to God's Window). On R533 go past Bushbuckridge onto R40 past Acornhoek and turn onto R531. After about 4 km turn left at Guernsey sign. After about 8km turn right at sign to Guernsey Private Nature Reserve. This route will take you about 7 hours.


Arriving by air

You can fly direct to Nelspruit international airport from several cities in South Africa. You can rent a car at the airport and drive to Mooiplaats Safari Lodge. To drive from Nelspruit take the R40 towards White river, Hazyview and Bushbuckridge. From their you can follow the instructions as set out in the scenic route above. It is about a two hours drive from Nelspruit to Mooiplaats. Transfers can be arranged. Another option is to fly to Hoedspruit Eastgate airport. Avis has an office at the airport. From here you can drive to the lodge in about 30 minutes. Take a left turn out of the airport. Take a right turn at the signs Klaserie. After about 20 kilometer turn left at sign to Guernsey Private Nature Reserve. Transfers from Eastgate can also be arranged.
