DE ZALZE GOLF COURSE:
The De Zalze Golf Course situated within the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate was designed by Peter Matkovich who has made the most of the stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy. The course is ranked by Golf Digest to be number three in the Western Cape. De Zalze golf course is the first course in the world to be awarded Fair Trade in Tourism certification. The golf course is part of the 300 hectare and much sought after De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate.

The course has an excellent mix of parkland holes with its main defences coming from the water features on several of the holes as well as the Oak tree lined Blaauwklippen River which winds its way through the golf estate and comes into play at various intervals. De Zalze Golf Club welcomes visiting golfers from around the globe and is geared to provide an exceptional experience from the moment you arrive. After your round of golf you may be tempted to relax on the open scenic terrace and enjoy a delicious meal together with a selection of some fine wines from both Spier and Kleine Zalze, two of the regions premier wine producers.

STELLENBOSCH GOLF COURSE:
With some holes bordering the vineyards, large trees framing the holes and surrounded by mountain slopes under vine, this is a parkland layout that is a delight to play. Stellenbosch Golf Club has already celebrated its centenary, but it was only in 1953 that it grew from a 9-hole course into 18 holes. It has a championship layout that has hosted many prestigious tournaments in the past. Amongst others, the South African Open and South African Masters were hosted at this picturesque 18-hole layout. The 1999 SA Open at Stellenbosch Golf Club proved to be one of the toughest Opens in the last decade.

Directions to Cathbert Country Inn From Cape Town:

- Take N1 North towards Paarl

- Take Exit 47, R44 Klapmuts, Stellenbosch

- Turn right at the end of the ramp and travel for 0,6 Kilometers

- Under Highway to 4 way stop

- Cross over the 4 way stop travel for 0,5 Kilometers

- Left at next road sign will say Franschhoek (R45)

- Travel for 8,6 Kilometers (Pass Glen Carlou, Backsberg, Cowlin, Drakensig and Rupert & Rothschild Wine Estates)

- Just before railway crossing and T-junction, turn right onto private tar road, through gates of Vrede en Lust Wine Estate.

- Follow the tar road for 2.4 km to Cathbert Country Inn.



Directions to Cathbert Country Inn From the Cape Town International Airport:

- Take the N2 towards Somerset West

- Take the R300 off ramp to Bellville

- Continue until you drop off to your right onto the N1 North towards Paarl

- Take Exit 47, R44 Klapmuts, Stellenbosch

- Turn right at the end of the ramp and travel for 0,6 Kilometers

- Under Highway to 4 way stop

- Cross over the 4 way stop and travel for 0,5 Kilometers

- Left at next road sign will say Franschhoek (R45)

- Take R310 Hellshoogte pass road

- Travel Through village of Pniel

- Pass Boschendal Wine Estate on your right

- At the Stop (T Junction) turn left

- Travel for 3,7 Kilometers and turn left at the signs for Klapmuts/ Simondium Road

- Just after you will cross a railway crossing, turn left onto private tar road through gates of Vrede en Lust.

- Follow the tar road for 2.4 km to Cathbert Country Inn.



Directions To Cathbert Country Inn From Hermanus:

- Travel back from Hermanus to Botrivier and take the N2 up the Houw Hoek pass to Grabouw

- Turn right at Grabouw and travel towards Vyeboom and then towards Villiersdorp on the R45.

- When approaching Villiersdorp with the dam on your right you will see a turning to your left to Franschhoek R45.

- Take this turnoff and go over the pass down into Franschhoek.

- Follow the signs turning right into the main street of Franschhoek R45.

- Travel along this road for approx 15 kilometers and watch out on your left for a turn to Pniel/Stellenbosch R310 etc.

- Stay on the R45 and travel for 3,7 Kilometers from this intersection.

- Take the next tar road to your left, to Klapmuts and you will immediately cross a railway line.

- Look to your left and you will see our sign as well as large white gateposts saying Vrede en Lust Wine Estate.

- Cross the railway line and turn left through these gates onto private tar road.

- Follow the tar road for 2.4 km to Cathbert Country Inn
